James Robert Malcolm , M.D.Fellowship Trained in Spine Surgery
James Robert Malcolm, M.D is a Board Certified orthopaedic Surgeon and Fellowship Trained in Spine Surgery. His specialties include musculoskeletal disorders of the spine and spinal surgery.
Dr. Malcolm graduated from the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, New York and received his Doctor of Medicine Degree from F. Hebert School of Medicine in Bethesda, Maryland. He completed his orthopaedic Residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. and his Spine Fellowship at the prestigious Twin Cities Scoliosis Spine Center and orthopaedic Surgery Department at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Dr. Malcolm served in the United States Army as a Colonel in the Medical Corps and retired in 2002. During his military career, he was an army flight surgeon and received many awards including the Bronze Star, many distinguished service medals, and was awarded The Army Surgeon General "A" Designator Award.
Dr. Malcolm is very involved in research and education. He has published many articles on various topics and is a national speaker on deformities and treatment of the spine. He has served as a Professor of Surgery at USUHS and a Clinical Assistant Professor at The Medical College of Georgia.
Dr. Malcolm lives in Marietta, Georgia with his wife and three children. He is active in the Boy Scouts and in his free time enjoys flying, sailing, scuba diving, tennis, and woodcarving.
